Barbie Nails: How to Achieve the Trendy and Glamorous Look

Are you looking for a fun and playful way to spice up your nail game?  You are in luck because hot pink nails aka “Barbie nails” are making their appearance. These trendy and glamorous nails are inspired by the iconic doll and feature bright and bold shades of pink along with glitter, and even some 3D embellishments. From hot pink nails to gorgeous pink designs, Barbie has brought back pink in the prettiest way.

Here’s how to get your very own Barbie nails.

Step 1: Prep your nails

Before starting, make sure your nails are clean and dry. To do this, first remove any old nail polish and trim and file your nails to your desired shape. Next, you can use a cuticle pusher to push back  cuticles and ensure a neat finish.

Step 2: Apply a base coat or nail strengthener.

If you are using liquid polish, you should use a good basecoat to protect your nails and prevent staining. Additionally you can use a nail strengthener that doubles as a base coat if your nails are weak or tend to split. I use Color Street’s nail strengthener. Check it out on my Color Street website here: Color Street Nail Strengthener

Step 3: Choose your colors

The Barbie nail trend is all about bright and bold colors, so feel free to mix and match your favorite shades. Pink is, of course, the most iconic Barbie color, but you can also incorporate other bright shades like purple, blue, or even neon green.  Color Street’s Watermelon Session nail polish strip is a good example. Below is a photo. Click here to see it on my Color Street website.

Step 4: Get Started

Now that you’ve chosen your colors, it’s time to get your Barbie mani started. If you’re using liquid polish, apply two coats of base color, making sure you let each coat dry completely before applying the next. If you use Color Street’s nail polish strips, you need only to apply the strip and you’re done. No wait time is needed.

Step 5: Add 3D embellishments (optional)

Are you ready for the ultimate Barbie nail look? Then consider adding 3D embellishments like gems or decals. You can apply these on top of your polish with a small amount of nail glue, or purchase press-on nails that already feature the embellishments.

Step 6: Apply a top coat

Lastly and to finish off your Barbie nails,  apply a glossy top coat to seal in your design and protect your nails from chipping. This step is not necessary if you use dry nail polish strips.

Now sit back and admire your very own Barbie nails! Whether you’re heading to a party or just want to add some fun to your everyday look, these nails are sure to turn heads. So grab your favorite colors, get creative, and let your inner Barbie shine!
